Alphabet Reading Challenge
Independent readers of all ages (and children who are read to) are encouraged to read (or listen to) 26 books throughout
the year. The books to be read will be chosen
according to the author’s last name, from A to Z. Let
the alphabet guide you through our shelves!
10 book reading challenge
Readers of all ages are challenged to read ten books during the year, chosen amongst books which they normally would not read. This can mean a different author, a different genre, or that best seller you always intended to read.
13 Canadian books reading challenge
We are challenging our avid readers to discover 13 new Canadian authors. One book, written by one author born in each province and territory in Canada, must be read. What a wonderful way to discover Canada’s literary talent! In March of 2011, we will be holding the first of our semi-annual used book sales. Donations have been plentiful, which means great buys for those hoping to find treasures for their personal book collection. As per usual, all monies generated from the sale of used books will go towards the purchase of new books for the library.
