Fundraiser – reading themed paint kits for sale
Thanks to the generosity of local artist and creator of the “Little Sunshines” Madeleine Raiche, the Shediac Public Library will be raising funds by selling “paint kits”.

Choose from a variety of “reading themed paint kits”.
Each “paint kit” includes everything you need to paint
your own masterpiece: hand drawn picture by the artist,
a paint brush and water color paints.
They will be sold for $20.00 each and all proceeds from kits sold at the library will help the library inspire creativity in budding artists by purchasing material for children’s programming!
Thank you! Madeleine Raiche! www.madeleineraiche.ca

Winter! Time to discover books… those whirlwinds of ideas!
For book lovers of all ages:
The Shediac Public Library has prepared three reading challenges designed to help readers discover new authors this year. You may register at the Shediac Public Library. Our first year-long reading challenge is the 2011 - Alphabet Reading Challenge. Independent readers of all ages (and children who are read to) are encouraged to read (or listen to) 26 books throughout the year. The books to be read will be chosen according to the author’s last name, from A to Z. Our second reading challenge is the 2011 – 10 Book Reading Challenge. Readers of all ages are challenged to read ten books during the year, chosen amongst books which they normally would not read. This can mean a different author, a different genre, or that best seller you always intended to read. Our third reading challenge is a new program for our library. We are challenging our avid readers to discover 13 new Canadian authors. One book, written by one author born in each province and territory in Canada, must be read. What a wonderful way to discover Canada’s literary talent! In March of 2011, we will be holding the first of our semi-annual used book sales.
Donations have been plentiful, which means great buys for those hoping to find treasures for their personal book collection. As per usual, all monies generated from the sale of used books will go towards the purchase of new books
